Set out from Vaattojärvi basecamp with your guide and supplied snowshoes. The walking distance and pace depend on your group and the snow conditions. Afterwards, return to the hot tent for a campfire meal, bread and hot drinks. Your host confirms the pickup route, meeting time and private camp location before booking.

Cameras & filming
GoPro HERO13 Black and DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro cameras are available to borrow on request, subject to availability and a personally confirmed arrangement.
Drone filming can be requested and quoted personally. Flights are considered only at or above −20°C, when weather, safe flying conditions and permissions allow. Footage is never guaranteed.

Your outing starts from Vaattojärvi basecamp, Kolari. Choose one pickup area; your host confirms the route, time, meeting point and exact private camp location.

Based at Vaattojärvi, Kolari. Pickup, the exact meeting point and private camp location are confirmed personally. Walking distance and pace suit your group and snow conditions. March brings longer daylight for the late-winter forest. Wear your own winter clothing and insulated boots.
We review the weather hourly. If it threatens the enjoyment or quality of your experience, choose to rebook or cancel before departure for a 100% refund, including your deposit. If we cannot deliver an enjoyable outing, we rebook or refund in full. Outings proceed only when safe and after an informed discussion.
The 30% no-aurora refund applies only to the standalone Aurora Evening.
Booking & preparation
Dates, suitability, luggage, child restraints and dietary needs are reviewed personally. A 25% deposit secures your confirmed date; the 75% balance is due seven days before departure. Book within seven days and pay in full.
Bring warm base layers, winter outerwear, insulated boots, hat and gloves. Listed camp equipment is provided; clothing is not.

Where does the snowshoe walk take place?
The walk follows forest trails around Vaattojärvi basecamp in Kolari. Levi, Ylläs, Rovaniemi and Kittilä are pickup areas, with the route and meeting point confirmed personally. The outing is based at Vaattojärvi.
How far will we walk?
There is no fixed walking distance promised for every group. Your guide agrees a pace and route for your group and the snow conditions. Tell us about children, walking experience or mobility needs before booking so we can discuss suitability.
Are snowshoes and winter clothing included?
Snowshoes, guiding, the heated tent and camp dining equipment are included. Bring your own warm winter layers, outerwear, insulated winter boots, hat and gloves. Your host can discuss preparation with you before departure.
Is this an aurora tour?
This is a daytime or twilight forest outing centred on snowshoeing and a hot-tent meal. Choose the separate Aurora Evening if northern lights watching is your main aim. March brings longer daylight for the late-winter walk.
