The basecamp stay runs from 16:00 to 10:00. Your prepared tent has two off-ground cots, thermal pads, reindeer hides and Arctic sleeping bags. Dinner and breakfast are included. Before booking, we agree your pickup, clothing, sleep suitability, host support and warm indoor fallback arrangements. Requested next-day snowshoeing is planned around your itinerary.

Cameras & filming

GoPro HERO13 Black and DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro cameras are available to borrow on request, subject to availability and a personally confirmed arrangement. A GoPro loan is included free with your overnight on request.

Drone filming can be requested and quoted personally. Flights are considered only at or above −20°C, when weather, safe flying conditions and permissions allow. Footage is never guaranteed.

Choose one pickup area for your overnight at Vaattojärvi, Kolari. Your host confirms the route, meeting point, time, host support and warm indoor fallback arrangements before booking.

Hosted at our Vaattojärvi basecamp in Kolari. Two guests maximum for tent space and Arctic sleep safety. The same private rate applies to a solo booking. Host support and warm indoor fallback arrangements are confirmed before booking, along with clothing, sleep suitability and conditions. The basecamp stay runs 16:00–10:00. Next-day guided snowshoeing and snowshoes are included on request at no extra charge; route and timing are confirmed with your overnight itinerary. A GoPro HERO13 Black is available to borrow on request at no extra charge with the overnight package, subject to availability. The optional private snowmobile tour is priced separately at €335.75, 15% below its standalone rate; overnight plus this add-on is €1,680.75.

We review the weather hourly. If it threatens the enjoyment or quality of your experience, choose to rebook or cancel before departure for a 100% refund, including your deposit. If we cannot deliver an enjoyable outing, we rebook or refund in full. Outings proceed only when safe and after an informed discussion.

The 30% no-aurora refund applies only to the standalone Aurora Evening.

Booking & preparation

Dates, suitability, luggage, child restraints and dietary needs are reviewed personally. A 25% deposit secures your confirmed date; the 75% balance is due seven days before departure. Book within seven days and pay in full.

Bring warm base layers, winter outerwear, insulated boots, hat and gloves. Listed camp equipment is provided; clothing is not.

Your questions.

How many guests can stay overnight?

The overnight is strictly limited to two guests for tent space and Arctic sleep safety. A solo guest can book at the same private rate. It is not available as a three- or four-person overnight.

What sleeping equipment is provided?

Two off-ground cots, thermal pads, reindeer hides and military-grade Arctic sleeping bags are provided. The shelter has a wood stove, a fireproof mat and dual digital carbon monoxide detectors. Clothing, sleep suitability, host support and a warm indoor fallback are confirmed personally before booking.

Is the next-day snowshoe outing included?

Yes. Guided snowshoeing and snowshoes are included on request at no extra charge. Tell us when you enquire so the route and timing can be agreed; this can extend the itinerary beyond the 10:00 end of the basecamp stay.

Can we add snowmobiling or borrow a camera?

The private snowmobile tour is a separately priced overnight add-on, discounted by 15% from its standalone rate. One guest snowmobile accommodates one or two guests sharing. A GoPro HERO13 Black loan is included with the overnight on request, subject to availability. Confirm both requests when you enquire.
