A winter night in the hot tent.

A wood-heated tent, two off-ground cots and dinner cooked in cast iron. Here is what is included in a Kettura overnight, and what we agree with you before you come.

One camp. Two guests maximum.

The overnight takes place at our private Vaattojärvi basecamp in Kolari, Finnish Lapland. The season runs from 1 December 2026 to 31 March 2027. The prepared camp is reserved for your booking, with a strict maximum of two guests. A solo guest can book at the same private rate.

The basecamp stay runs from 16:00 to 10:00. Your pickup, route and meeting time are agreed personally. Next-day guided snowshoeing can extend the itinerary, so mention onward travel or other commitments before your plan is confirmed.

Your sleeping setup.

Two off-ground cots, thermal pads, reindeer hides and military-grade Arctic sleeping bags are provided. The insulated tent has a portable wood stove, a fireproof mat and dual digital carbon monoxide detectors. The two-guest limit allows the planned sleeping layout to be used.

A heated tent is part of an outdoor winter experience. We discuss clothing and sleep suitability with you, along with host support and warm indoor fallback arrangements, before booking. Ask about overnight stove arrangements, toilets and washing facilities so your expectations match the camp you will use.

Dinner, breakfast and your own winter layers.

A three-course cast-iron dinner and a morning stove breakfast are included. Tell us about food allergies, dietary requirements or other meal needs when you enquire so they can be reviewed before the outing is confirmed.

  • Bring warm base layers and winter outerwear.
  • Wear insulated winter boots, a hat and gloves.
  • Share any concerns about sleeping outdoors before booking.
  • Confirm your luggage with your host when arranging pickup.

Plan the following morning.

Guided snowshoeing and snowshoes are included on request at no extra charge. The route and timing are agreed around your group and the snow conditions. Request it when you book so it is part of the itinerary.

A private snowmobile tour is a separate, paid option at 15% below the standalone rate. One guest machine is used by one or two guests sharing. The planned circuit is approximately 55 km, with the distance and any lake crossing subject to checked conditions. Allow approximately three to four hours including briefing and stops; your host confirms the combined schedule.

A camera, if you want one.

A GoPro HERO13 Black is available to borrow free with your overnight on request, subject to availability. Ask in advance so the loan can be included in your plan. Other camera loans and optional drone filming need a personally confirmed arrangement; footage is never guaranteed.

Keep the weather part of the conversation.

We review weather hourly. If it threatens the enjoyment or quality of your experience, you can rebook or cancel before departure for a full refund, including your deposit. We discuss the conditions and your options personally.

Northern lights are a possibility, never an overnight inclusion we can promise. The 30% no-aurora refund belongs only to the completed standalone Aurora Evening. For the overnight, choose the tent, food and time in the forest as the reasons to come.
